Jason & Cynthia

Yesterday was the perfect Fall day - sunny and warm with perfect colours on the trees! A great day for a wedding! Jason and Cynthia got married up in Owen Sound at a beautiful old church - I was so happy to see it's red doors! Jason & Cynthia are just so much fun - watching Cynthia's enthusiasm when Jason told her where they were going on the honeymoon (Spain for a week and a week long cruise of Greece, Italy and Spain. SWEET!!) was so much fun to watch! Thank you both for letting me be a part of your day - you should be in Italy now... enjoy!

Generations

Yesterday I went to the Stam family's beautiful home to photograph 4 generations of family. They have 5 granddaughters - all under the age of 2! There were three 2 year olds and twin girls that are 11 months old. It was fun to meet them all and watch the cousins interact with each other.

Family

Well, since we were all there at Saturday's wedding and involved - the girls were flower girls, Mark did the ceremony, I took pics... thought we should get a couple snapshots of us too!

John & Kate

Saturday was Mark's youngest sister, Kate's wedding. It was up at the family farm in the big town of Clifford - an absolutely gorgeous day outside for a garden wedding! It was a beautiful ceremony and great to see so many family members together to celebrate with John, Kate and her son Ethan. Congrats you two!

I was surprised to see Eden's reaction to Kate in her wedding dress. She just stood there with huge eyes and open jaw when she bounded around the corner and saw the beautiful bride...

Happy Birthday Madi!

Friday my Madison turned 5. Five seems so significant - no more toddler or preschool - she is now a little girl. And it is strange how all of a sudden she is growing in her abilities and interests - as if the age 5 was a step for her into a whole new era.

I love tis kid so much. She is very tender hearted, she will be the first to offer kisses and hugs when she feels comfortable with you. Her imagination is through the roof. She loves to laugh and play and brings me so much joy. Her name means "Gift from God" - and she has been one of the best gifts I ever could receive.

Friday was a bit unusual of a birthday for her - usually on a birthday we will spend the day celebrating that person - but with it being a school day, and then having to head 2 hours north to the farm for the wedding rehearsal (she was a flower girl) and with all the hustle and bustle of a wedding - well... it wasn't a typical birthday. But she was a trooper and so happy with the smallest celebrations and now this week we will do her party which should be a lot of fun! Watch for pictures from that later this week!

Here is my darling girl who I love sooo much heading to school on her birthday (yes, she wore the crown all day) with the horses she bought with money from GG (Great Grandma). She is on a huge horse kick right now!



And that night the girls shared a bed at the farm - this is how I found them cuddling - Eden has her thumb in Madi's mouth! Too funny!

Friends

Last month I photographed Joslyn's son and his family at her great home - which also fronts the coolest quilting and knitting store ever. Tonight, I went back to photograph friends of Joslyn and her husband Charlie's, her granddauughter (who is also named Charlie! Love that!)and other family and friends. You can tell that Joslyn and her husband Charlie love people and it is a gift to watch them with their friends and family. Their good friends Kate, Ken and their son Griffin and new baby daughter Wickham Butterfly are moving to BC next week so this photo shoot was an extra special gift of memories!



The two Charlies who are both extremely camera shy - fortunately they love each other enough to forget the lens!

I should take a minute to introduce my team...

My hubby Mark has been a support since day#1. He has encouraged me in my dream and allowed me the room to grow - he's amazing! I'm thrilled he's come on board at KJP (Krista Jefferson Photography). He is assisting at weddings now, as well as helping with some of the behind the scenes duties of the business.

Carolynn has been such an amazing friend - she is so excited for KJP, that she has been volunteering her time to help me out for the last year. She has now come on in a more formal role and does my scheduling and a lot of my communication as I wasn't able to keep up with it anymore. She helps with bookkeeping and just about every other possible function of the business. She assisted me at my first KJP wedding and has been assisting ever since. She has developed a great style and we work very well together.

Beth is the newest addition. She is an absolute sweetheart! We met through a mutual friend and hit it off immediately. Beth has so much talent - and I'm loving seeing her grow in her skills. She has been assisting at weddings also, and has just started recently helping me with editing photos (so I can get them to you quicker!). She is so full of enthusiasm and life - a wonderful friend to have around!

The best part of the team for me - if that we're all excited! We love to dream and celebrate the journey of KJP together. It is so good for me to have friends that celebrate each mini-success alongside me, and offer support and encouragement when I'm feeling burnt out. THANK YOU!

Last night the four of went to a conference in Toronto - this was our first time all hanging out together and it was fun.

I am excited t have these three in my life and look forward to working out our roles as we try to make things run smooth and efficient for you!

Summer's End

This week has been an amazing last week of summer - so warm and sunny! Love it! Today I had a couple of photo shoots so I was going through withdrawal of my kids. So, I packed them and their buddy Paige in the van and we met Mark at the park for a picnic and some outdoor time. The kids had a blast with their random play - and we had fun watching them! Every once in awhile I will give Mark the camera and ask him to snap some pics of me with the girls - since I'm the one always taking the pics, I'm never in any of them! Here are a few fro our summer's evening...

Laura

In August I photographed Mike & Vanessa's wedding and I met Laura, who was one of their bridesmaids. Today I got to photograph Laura in a different role! She is a local real estate agent and needed head shots and photos for her website and promotional pieces. It was a gorgeous day - and a beautiful location! - to photograph. Edwards Family

Many moons ago I grew up in Thunder Bay and knew Donna from my church there. Fast forward 15+ years... while visiting a friend I see Donna's photo on her fridge and find out Donna is a nurse with my favourite set of nurses (the Public Health nurses of Wellington Dufferin! - which includes my hubby). I got the chance to meet her hubby, Phil, when he officiated for a wedding for one of the nurses, and for a Baby Blessing for another nurse. Well, today I finally got to meet their boys - Isaiah and Micah. Cutest, most well behaved boys ever. They were so good - and sooo cute!!

Natasha's family

Natasha is a good friend of mine - I like to call her "St. Natasha" as she really is an absolute saint. She just gives and gives and will do anything for anyone. Anyhow, on Sunday I had the joy of photographing her family. It is always fun doing an extended family - watching the family dynamics... an aunt picking flowers with her niece, a cousin rough housing with his younger cousin, a water fight between niece and uncle... the simple moments in life which become lasting memories. After the formal group photos, I enjoyed grabbing some of these candid moments of the group also! And after the photos, we went back to Natasha's grandparents with everyone and enjoyed Grandpa Moe's famous mac & cheese... mmmm......

Byron & Erica

Saturday was a beautiful Fall day for Byron & Erica's wedding. After their ceremony we went straight to Glen Erin Inn where they had a mingle reception. It was a great time of people enjoying each other's company! Their was a great jazz band playing, and people mingling between the different rooms. After the reception, Byron & Erica and ourselves went down to Erindale Park to take some photos of just the two of them. It was a lot of fun - they are such a sweet couple and it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of their Big Day!

Chris & Arlene

This weekend was a busy one for me with two weddings. Friday night's wedding was with Chris & Arlene at Liuna Station in Hamilton. The clouds and rain held off until the ceremony was done outside and the guests were in. Perfect! Chris & Arlene carefully thought through every detail, and so many details of the day had special significance and meaning. A beautiful day - thank you for letting me be a part of your Big Day!

Dan & Leslie

Tonight I had the fun of photographing Dan & Leslie as they wait for their first child. They brought along their baby Diesel - a beautiful Black Lab! Leslie is 5 weeks away - and looks amazing! And Dan... I don't think I've ever seen a dad so excited. They are going to make great parents - can't wait to meet the wee one very soon!

Sean & Nichola

Today I had the pleasure of doing a wedding on behalf of a good friend - a fellow photographer who is ill. It was great to meet Sean & Nikola - such a sweet couple! They were just beaming! All week called for rain for today - but it was gorgeous! They have a beautiful 7 month old daughter Shae who was such a doll! A great day - thanks!

Last and First Days

Yesterday was the last day of summer vacation for our family. Today was the first day back to school for Madi. What a mix of emotions! Here's a glance at us enjoying one last night at the beach pre-school and my big girl going off to French Immersion in SK!

Happy (unofficial) last day of summer!

Today is the un-official last day of summer. I am so sad to have Madi heading back to school this week - and my baby girl is starting French immersion this year in SK! At least I have until Friday before she starts - Friday I'll be an emotional wreck I'm sure. I LOVE having my girls both home. It's been a great summer of camping, playing, biking, trips to the beach and building memories.

Must run - we're off for one last family bike ride!

Joe and Andrea

This afternoon I got the chance to meet Joe and Andrea (and their adorable pup Buddy!) as they wait for baby Anthony to arrive. Andrea looks so good! It is always fun to do maternity photos - and their loft was a perfect place for photos. Now I can't wait to meet Anthony in November!

Dave & Rachael

Today was a perfect day for an outdoor wedding! Dave & Rachael had a beautiful wedding at the Old Mill in Ancaster today. They are two of the sweetest people - and it was a lot of fun to be a part of their Big Day! They thought of lots of ways to bring meaning to their day - from Rachael's embroidered name on the inside of her dress from her Grandma (in blue for her "something blue!"), to the photo on Rachael's bouquet of Dave's late Grandpa to their dog Bella's necklace. Each detail was carefully thought through and together made for a beautiful day!
