Tom & Chantal
Yesterday I had the fun of being a part of Tom & Chantal's wedding celebration. It was a beautiful day and they both were beaming. Chantal was stunning and Tom was the handsome groom. A great day - thanks for letting me be a part of your Day!

Jason & Cynthia
Tonight I had the fun of photographing Jason & Cynthia's engagement photos. What a great pair! They had me laughing and enjoying myself the entire time. I loved watching how these two respond and connect - beautiful. Today marks 100 days until their wedding - and is the first day of summer. Reason enough to celebrate! Here are a few of the photos we took down at Pier 4 in Hamilton tonight.
And as we walked out we saw this great red wall of a chip wagon - I fell in love with the deep red!

Good Friends
Tonight, after Jason & Cynthia's photo session I met up with two of my favourite people - Carolynn & Cherie. We enjoyed some treats at the great new Williams down at the waterfront and did what we always do... snapped some photos! Here are a couple pics we took...

Father's Day Winner
Congratulations to Andrea on winning the Father's Day contest! Here is a portion of her moving story of her dad...
22years ago, we were the only family who's parents were splitting up. For two kids that is pretty tramaic. AT the time, most people figured that we would live with our mom. Kids, to most people, would naturally go with their mom. IT didn't happen in our house. I remember the day clearly, my father standing on the stoop watching my mom remove her final things from the home to leave…..I remember her turning around, with such anger to tell him that she was still going to take "us kids"…and I remember my dad calmly telling her "you can take any material thing you want, but you will NEVER get our children. They belong here in their HOME."
That day, he became my hero.
...The day I told him I was going to be a mom myself, he smiled, with tears, and told me the same day he had been diagnosed with a disease that would eventually take all of his sight. The day my son was born, the only words my dad uttered upon arrival to see his first grandchild was "Andrea, I can see him…..I can still see enough to see him…"
Andrea - you have a special bond with your Father and I look forward to photographing you with him this Fall! Thank you to all who entered!

20 Questions
This has been a busy week for me - by tomorrow night I'll have done 5 photo shoots in as many days and attended an evening of seminars - as well as gone to my daughter's TBall game, volunteered on a school field trip and in the JK class, gone for lunch with my mom, visited with a few friends and more. I love it all but am looking forward to a weekend away with my dear patient hubby this weekend!
But, I need a little fun to come home to....
I'm a bit of a nerd in that I love games. Scrabble (I carry around the list of all the 2 Letter Scrabble words in my wallet!), Trivial Pursuit, Settlers of Catan, Scene It... any game and I'll try to win! And have a lot of laughs while I lose...
I saw this game-type concept on a fellow photographer's blog and it sounded fun so I thought you might enjoy playing too. Here's how it works... ask me a question - anything at all that you've been curious about... shooting techniques, equipment I use, what inspires me, when I first discovered my love of photography, my favorite colour... basically anything!
Feel free to post them as a comment to this entry or email them to me if you prefer. I'll start a new entry answering your questions soon!

Chick Clicks # 2
Today was our second Chick Clicks session - if you're new to our "Chick Clicks" - the four of us who went to Vegas together meet every 6 weeks for a "creativity" session. We each take turns planning and hosting and today was Sandra's turn!
In the States "Seniors" portraits are very, very popular - in Canada no one knows what you're talking about. Seniors portraits are for high school seniors and are almost like a glamour, magazine style shoot. So today Sandra rounded up her nieces and their boyfriends and we had fun!! I wish I had photos like this rather than the stiff school grad portraits I have buried somewhere!
This reminded me of one of my first - maybe even "the" first - photo shoot I did for someone. A friend asked if she could hire me to do photos to celebrate her grad from university. She didn't want the standard school photos, so we went all around her university and got some great photos that really showed off her personality.
Anyways, back to today... here are a few of the many, many portraits....
And now I'm pleased to introduce... the Chick Clicks! (Left to Right) Melanie, Tracy, myself and Sandra.
and one goofy one of me...

Little Miss Zadie
Today I had the honour of photographing at little Miss Zadie's first birthday party! Her mom and I went to high school together and haven't seen each other in over ten years - so when she asked if I would come to do her party I was more than delighted! And what a beauty Zadie is - well, see for yourself!

Buskers and Back Alleys
On Sunday we took our girls to the Busker festival in Dundas. They loved seeing people do all the things they're not allowed to do or try!
Then, I had my fun by finding some nice walls to snap some pics of Mark and the girls behind Dairy Queen and Burger King. Sweet!
A fun afternoon!

Dave & Rachael
This morning I had the fun of doing Dave & Rachael's engagement photos. I met this fun couple last year when I photographed Dave's brother's wedding. These two were up for anything - and I made sure to give them their morning workout - they were jumping and running... and laughing a lot. It was a fun morning. Looking forward to your Big Day this September!
