Father's Day

Well, we just finished our Mother's Day contest... so I naturally started to think about Father's Day.

In today's society, we do not have a lot of strong Father figures. As I "Googled" looking for Father's Day quotes I found quotes heavy with regrets, and sadness over absent or abusive Fathers.

For this reason I find it all the more important to celebrate the Fathers and men in our lives who have been there and loved us. As I looked over my photos I was thrilled to see fathers who were there helping their infant daughters to walk, and then in a blink of an eye walking them down an aisle to entrust them to another man. Men who put pride aside to dance and goof off with kids. Grandpas who found walking a chore - but dancing with a grandchild a delight.

Enter today and WIN!

Send me an e-mail ("Father's Day" as the subject) with some of your thoughts about the man or men in your life who have impacted you in a positive way. It need not be a Father - a teacher, a friend, a pastor, a brother. I want to celebrate relationships! I love stories and would love to read yours! A $10 gift certificate to Krista Jefferson Photography will be given to all valid entries (one gift certificate per household) - just for sharing about the men you love! The First Place Winner will receive a free photo session and a $25 gift certificate for Krista Jefferson Photography. Contest closes June 13, 2007 and the winner will be announced on June 15!(Please note: I may use quotes from your stories on the blog - we all want to celebrate these men together!) I will be sending a printable version of the gift certificates that you can print off - so you can still get it in time for Father's Day!

To get you started thinking about Father's Day here is a slideshow of some recent men sharing their love and their lives with those around them...
